The next Pokémon GO Season has been fully detailed. This season, Tales of Transformation, runs from September 2nd through December 2nd and is focused around the Pokémon Keldeo, introducing its Resolute Form into the game.


Debut Pokemon

Mega Sharpedo, Mega Camerupt, and Mega Metagross will debut during Mega Raid Days this season. Dipplin, Hydrapple, and more Pokémon will make their debuts. Gigantamax Garbodor and Dynamax Duraludon, among others, will appear for the first time this season


Research & Weekly Challenges

During this season, there will be a Special Research to encounter Keldeo and power it up. Those who already have Keldeo will get additional candy. A new feature, Weekly Challenges, will go live this season. This social feature lets you team up with three other trainers to take on a group challenge each week. Complete the challenge to earn rewards and experience, alongside boosting friendship level. You can group with other trainers on the friend list or get matched with new ones from around the world. Alakazam, Aggron, Sinistea, Morpeko, Dreepy, and Frigibax will be in Research Breakthroughs this season.


Other info

During the season, Trainers 31 and above will get a guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching a Raid Boss during Raid Hours. Players will also get 1 additional candy when trading Pokémon. There is also increased experience for PokéStop Spin streaks, increased experience and Stardust for catch streaks, and increased experience from increasing friendship levels. A Pokémon GO Wild Area event will also run, with Impidimp being teased for it.

Some movepools are getting changed when the season starts, and the changes are:

  • Salamence, Incineroar, and Turtonator will be able to learn Brutal Swing

  • Shelgon & Salamence will be able to learn Crunch

  • Garchomp will be able to learn Breaking Swipe

  • Turtonator will be able to learn Dragon Claw

  • Torkoal will be able to learn Flame Wheel

  • Altaria will be able to learn Flamethrower

  • Empoleon & Kommo-o will be able to learn Metal Sound

  • Fearow will be able to learn Drill Peck

  • Dodrio, Xatu & Togekiss will be able to learn Peck

  • Charizard will be able to learn Air Cutter

  • Alolan Raichu, Xatu, Galarian Slowking, Victini, Delphox & Aromatisse will be able to learn Psyshock

  • Druddigon, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum & Hakamo-o will be able to learn RockTomb

  • Crustle will be able to learn Rock Wrecker

  • Flygon & Krookodile will be able to learn Sand Tomb

  • Nidoqueen & Torterra will be able to learn Mud-Slap

  • Pachirisu will be able to learn Hyper Fang

  • Kingdraw will be able to learn Swift

  • Dodrio will be able to learn Trailblaze

  • Kommo-o will be able to learn Upper Hand

  • Raikou, Celebi, Latias, Latios & Jirachi will be able to learn Aura Sphere

  • Slowbro, Galarian Slowbro, Gengar, Quagsire, Sableye, Toxicroak, Mienfoo, Mienshao, Incineroar & Passimian will be able to learn Drain Punch
