Sweet Discoveries

The next announced event in Pokemon Go is Sweet Discoveries, featuring the debut of Applin, the Apple Core Pokemon, and its evolutions Flapple, the Apple Wing Pokemon, and Appletun, the Apple Nectur Pokeon. They are grass/dragon type Pokemon introduced in Generation 8 in the Galar Region. It runs from Apr 24th at 10:00 am/10:00 local time and ends on Apr 29th at 08:00 pm/20:00 local time.

What to expect

During the event, you will get apples that can be used to evolve Applin into either Flapple or Appletun. You need 200 Applin candies and 20 of each apple to evolve Applin; Tart Apple for Flapple and Sweet Apple for Appletun. There will be 2x catch candy and an increased chance of getting Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet in the wild and eggs. Shiny Cherubi can be hatched as well. The first 3 eggs will have halved distance when using the Go Widget. You will have an increased chance of getting apples on Pokéstops with Mossy Lure modules on. Catching Delibird and Skwovet will give you berries.

Wild Spawns

During the event, you will find Alolan Rattata, Abra, Bellsprout, Delibird, Gulpin, Bidoof, Munna, Bounsweet, Skwovet, Snorlax, Shuckle, and Komala in the wild. Applin spawns as an apple on the map. Either you get an apple, or you get an Applin Encounter. All can be shiny except for Applin.

Eggs

During the event, in 7km eggs, you will find Delibird, Cherubi, Munchlax, and Skwovet. All can be shiny. Munchlax does not have an increased chance.

Research

During the event, there will be a free timed research to get encounters, a Mossy Lure Module, a tart apple, and a sweet apple. There is also a paid timed research that gives you 2 Mossy Lure Modules and encounters with event Pokemon, including Delibird, Skwovet, and Applin.

Clothing

In the in-game store, Applin Headband and Applin Apron can be bought from when the event starts.
