Pokémon GO's 9th Anniversary Party

A new event for Pokémon GO has been announced, and it is Pokémon GO's 9th Anniversary Party. It features the return of the regi giants. The event runs from July 1st, 10 am until July 6th, 08:00 pm.

New stuff

The event adds Ivysaur and Venusaur with Party Hats, and Gimmighoul with a 9th anniversary coin. Shiny Gimmighoul is added as well. There will be party hats on the map, and they might give you an encounter with an event Pokémon. Gimmighoul with a coin will have a special background.

Wild encounters

The Gen 1 starters will appear in the wild with their party hats once again, as per usual for the Anniversary Party.

Pokestops

You may get 9 or 99 coins when spinning a Pokestop, and a Pokestop becomes golden when a golden lure module is activated on it.

Raids

Pikachu with a cake hat and Eevee with a party hat will appear in 1 star raids.

Research

There will be free Timed Research that gives out XP, encounters with event-themed Pokémon, and more. A paid timed research can also be bought, and it gives out a Super Incubator, a Max Mushroom, and an encounter with Gimmighoul holding a coin. For those who did not get the Masterwork Research for Shiny Jirachi can get it during this event. If you already got it, then you get 2* incense duration and 2* lucky egg duration.

Other info

Friendship increases quicker during the event when interacting, and there is an increased chance of becoming lucky friends or getting lucky Pokémon in trades.
