New Year's 2026

A new event for Pokémon GO has been announced, and it is the New Year's event. The event runs from Dec 31st, 10 am, until Jan 4th, 08:00 pm.

What to expect

During the event, you get 2* Raid Experience and 2* Raid Stardust, and you will get an increased chance of Shiny Pikachu in a New Year's Hat. The number of guaranteed lucky Pokémon will increase from 35 to 45, and Pokémon in storage from 2020 or earlier will be guaranteed lucky when traded within that limit.

Wild encounters

During the event, you will find Bulbasaur in a party hat, Jigglypuff in a ribbon, Hoohoot in a New Year's hat, and Pikachu in a New Year's hat will spawn in the wild.

Raids

Pikachu in a New Year's Hat, Wurmple in a Party Hat are in 1 Star Raids

Raticate, Nidorino, Gengar, and Wobbuffet in party hats will be in 3 Star Raids

Research

During the event, the Daily Field Research will award Lucky Egg or Incense. There will be paid Timed Research to get 2 Premium Battle Passes, 3000 Stardust, and encounters with Pikachu. You will also get an additional Raid Pass a day from Gyms.
