Lunar New Year 2026

A new event for Pokémon GO has been announced, and it's called 'Lunar New Year'. The event runs from Feb 17th, 10 am, until Feb 21st, 08:00 pm.

What to expect

During the event, you get an increased chance to become Lucky Friends and get Lucky Pokémon in trades. There's an increased chance to get Shiny Blitzle, Shiny Darumaka, and Shiny Gimmighoul. PokéStops may turn gold without the need for a Golden Lure Module.

Wild encounters

During the event, you will find Ponyta, Galarian Ponyta, Fuecoco, Blitzle, and Darumaka may spawn in the wild.

Research

There will be a Global Challenge to get Stardust and an encounter with an event themed Pokémon. There will also be paid Timed Research to get 200 Poké Coins, 2 Lucky Eggs, 1 Incense, and encounters with Blitzle & Darumaka.
