Kanto Celebration

A new event for Pokémon GO has been announced, and it is Kanto Celebration. It features the return to Kanto. The event runs from Sept 2nd, 10 am until Sept 7th, 08:00 pm.

What to expect

During the event, you'll get 1 Candy XL for evolving a Pokémon, 3* Mega Evolution duration, and 2* PokéStop Spinning Experience.

Wild encounters

During the event, you will find Chansey, Snorlax, Abra, and more will spawn in the wild

Research

There will be a timed research each day that gives encounters with regional Pokémon. They last for one day each, aka a new one each day. Farfetch'd will run from September 2nd to September 3rd, Kangaskhan from September 3rd to September 4th, Mr. Mime from September 4th to September 5th, and Tauros from September 5th to September 6th. There will be Field Research for encounters, Experience, and Mega Energy. There will be a Collection Challenge to receive Mega Energy. Lastly, there will be paid Special Research to get encounters with Dynamax Articuno, Dynamax Zapdos, Dynamax Moltres, and more.
